
Felix Nikels
Senior Principal Scientist (DL)

Felix Nikels is a pharmacist by training with academic research background in biochemical pharmacology and functional drug characterization.
He specializes in drug product analytics for various therapeutic modalities (therapeutic proteins and peptides, small molecules, virus-based therapeutics and gene therapies). The focus of his work is on aggregate and particle analytics, and respective control strategies, including understanding and assessment of biological impact.
In his current role as a senior principal scientist in Boehringer Ingelheim’s Innovation Unit, Felix maintains several scientific collaborations throughout industry and academia.
He is an active member (including leadership roles) of several industry consortia and scientific working groups, e.g., under the umbrella of EFPIA, IQ, ETC, AAPS, CASSS, APV
